The time has come! Hi, Caitlin here from Cherished Chapters Tutoring. We interrupt our regularly scheduled program to bring to you some bargain books. With our blog series, we have been introducing a lot of new books to you all. Now, just out of convenience and accessibility, we linked these books through Amazon.
(Please note again that we are not and have never been affiliated with Amazon. We do not get anything in return for linking these books there or you clicking the links.)
However, we also recognize that not everyone can afford to, or would want to, pay full price for the books (myself included). Books are not inexpensive, but with a bit of searching, it can be easy to find really good deals. I always justify the purchase of a book as an investment into imagination, creativity, literacy, and education.
So, below I will be listing a few of my personal favorite bargain book stores as well as some others on the market.

Book Outlet takes the number one spot because it is by FAR my favorite of all the listings on here. They have thousands and thousands of selections on their website under each and every genre you could possibly think of. Children, adolescents, teens, and adults all have options to choose from in adventure, mystery, fantasy, cookbooks, self-care, self-help, and more! The best part about Book Outlet... compared to these other sites, they will almost always have 50% off and higher. I've seen as much as 85% off retail price on there.

Similar to Book Outlet, Thriftbooks is solely a platform that caters to bringing books at discount prices. When I used to shop Thriftbooks i used to find a lot of classics and older novels. Now, they've expanded to introduce a wide variety of genres, more contemporary novels and some indie writers as well.
3. ebay.com

There used to be a subsection of eBay designated for books but, unfortunately, they have since discontinued it. I always used to find books, especially books for school on there. Luckily, the platform merged over fully into ebay.com and you can still find books on there.... with just a little bit of extra searching. Sometimes you will even find people trying to get rid of a whole "lot" of books at once. You can get some really good deals buying books this way. My one warning when shopping on eBay is to keep track of where something is being shipped from and check to see how much the shipping is. Some sellers will offer you free shipping while others will put it through the postal service. In that case, it gets charged by weight. But! If you get a good deal on the "lot" of books then sometimes it's worth paying a little extra in shipping. It will still come out cheaper in the end.
4. booksamillion.com - bargain section

Don't forget to check through the websites of our usual sellers. They sometimes have sale, clearance, and markdown sections. Books-a-million is a good place to go if you don't have one by you. They often have tremendous markdowns in-store and it looks like they have some pretty good selections available for purchase through their website as well.
Your local booksellers may also have discounted prices, but that depends on the seller and the area you live in. If you want to keep track of these websites and the bargains they bring in and out of their stores, make sure you use your email to subscribe to them! Some of the best sales of the year, at all book retailers, come around the holiday time (Black Friday, Cyber Monday, after Christmas, and end of the year sales) so keep your eyes peeled!
Until next time... Happy Reading.
